For those folks that saw my post in October about the Gleann Abhann royals stepping down as zombies, the photos are now up! Coronation of William & Onora - Loric & Diana attacked by Zombies
It's interesting - looks like the new Royals wear different crowns than the outgoing RMs were wearing. Very... uh, tall. Hm.

No, really - you might be laughing now, but you will never want to pop bubblewrap again!
Don't say I didn't warn you... (mostly SFW, an f-word and bit of adult subject matter)

Is it being culturally insensitive to call this Anglo-Saxon Failday?

Stolen from 'Lainie - thanks!

One of the SCA blogs that I read is Lia de Thornegge, who posted photos from Drachenwald's Double Wars with a few photos of our own fartraveling Ulf Bloodfoot scattered throughout: http://tworavens.org/gallery/main.php/v/hostedphotos/liathornegge/2009DoubleWars/

You know, I like the post office. I wave at my mailman, I hardly ever call it "snail mail", I don't complain about postage increases. ( Read more )

One of the largest and most popular ones — that’s convinced more than 27 million consumers to fill out detailed questionnaires about their health and private lifestyle habits — is RealAge. As Stephanie Clifford writes, “while RealAge promotes better living through nonmedical solutions, the site makes its money by selling better living through drugs.” Pharmaceutical companies pay RealAge for the names of people revealing certain “health risk factors,” she found, for targeted marketing. ... I got the flyer for this year's Aurora Fiber Faire, down in Aurora, OR. It's Saturday, April 18th, 9:30 to 4 pm. It's a small event, not like OFFF or Black Sheep Show, but it's fun and close to Portland. Fleeces, prepared fiber, exotic fibers, equipment, books and supplies, sheepskins, and gifty stuff. Also available: frozen cuts of locally grown lamb.
There will be hourly demos on wool carding, sock knitting hints, needle felting and more.
This year they've got a Beginning Spinning Class, 10 to 3, bring a wheel or borrow one from the Aurora Handspinners' Guild. Taught by Diane McKinnon. Class size is limited to 12. Cost is $40.
I don't see a lot of spinning classes advertised, so if you're interested, I'll email you the rest of the class info.

Very nice <6 minute piece from a Pennsylvanian public tv station: (I assume they got all the proper permissions, of course.)

Who knew that PDX has an inside, underground, pirate-themed, day-glo, 3D-glasses, 18 hole, putt-putt miniature golf course? I am just amazed!
